Chinese netizens are circulating petitions online to boycott French goods and stop going to Paris/France for vacation.
After the boorish and vulgar behavior of French President Nicholas Sarkozy, and Paris Socialist Mayor Bertrand Delanoë, with the latter's disrespectful grandstanding in instructing his staff to fly a "Free Tibet" banner in Paris City Hall while the Olympics torch relay neared it, Chinese netizens are mobilizing for "payback" against Paris and France.
Furthermore, the imagery of a Jin Jing, the disabled Chinese torchbearer on a wheelchair being assaulted by a Tibetan protester in the streets of Paris has unleashed angry reaction from China's youth.
Carrefour,the French "Walmart" with numerous outlets in China is under threat of a massive economic boycott by Chinese consumers. And netizens are mobilizing in the net to boycott traveling to France on tourism.
After Paris and the hooliganism which was seen by Chinese youths all over China and further spread through the net with their network in the ethnic overseas Chinese communities all over 135 countries around the world, it is about time that London, Paris, and San Francisco be called for what they did against the dignity and self-respect of the Chinese people. The Olympics belong to the people. The Beijing Olympics games belong to the Chinese peoples !
Reportedly, this disrespect and insult heaped upon the Olympics torch relay in London, Paris and San Francisco have united even Taiwanese with mainlanders in China.
