CNN International Host Richard Quest, British correspondent busted for drugs at NY Central Park

Scandalous. Talk about the debauchery of some in the Western news media celebrity rat pack.

And CNN, specially included.

Another CNN scandal involving its "celebrity talking heads" being in the news, making the news, instead of reporting the news.

LOL.

Is CNN replicating the Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, and Paris Hilton of Holllywood LA LA land ? and doing Hollywood in New York East, hub of America's news media ?

What will we have next ?

A CNN female correspondent without panties on a la Britney Spears unglued making news instead of responsibly covering the news about the Beijing Olympics or hectoring China about freedom of the press, human rights or about the mau mau protests ?

More like press abuses to me in Spatium Trientis.

Just soon after the Jack Cafferty alledgedly"misspoked" and made the vitriolic "dumb ass"remarks about China which offended all Chinese around the globe, including those overseas here in America, here comes another scandalous "bad white boy" within the CNN organization catapulted into the news, being in the news, and becoming the news, our Brit with the "lip," Richard Quest, a correspondent for CNN International known for his reports on business travel. He hosts "CNN Business Traveler" and "Quest."

Quest was busted this morning in the wee hours of the New York morning at Central Park with metaamphetamines in his pocket !:-(

What's the matter with these white lads ?

Some context first to "dumb ass" Cafferty and his motor mouth, before Quest, our "Brit with the lip."

On the April 9, 2008 broadcast of CNN's "Situation Room", when asked to comment on the United States' relationship with China, Cafferty responded:

"Well, I don't know if China is any different, but our relationship with China is certainly different. We're in hock to the Chinese up to our eyeballs because of the war in Iraq, for one thing. They're holding hundreds of billions of dollars worth of our paper. We also are running hundred of billions of dollars worth of trade deficits with them, as we continue to import their junk with the lead paint on them and the poisoned pet food and export, you know, jobs to places where you can pay workers a dollar a month to turn out the stuff that we're buying from Wal-Mart. So I think our relationship with China has certainly changed. I think they're basically the same bunch of goons and thugs they've been for the last 50 years"

Pardonez mois ? Mr. Cafferty. Did we hear what you just said?

Well, Mr. Quest. Welcome to the club of CNN stellar "Hall of Shame" of convicted criminals within its newsroom. You will be in great company. And Mr. Cafferty is one of them.

On a Wiki search about Mr. Cafferty's stellar record as a "talking head" for CNN's "Situation Room," we also discovered, to our shock and amazement, some not so stellar "footprints."

Such as (click on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Cafferty):

"Cafferty pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident and misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, assault and harassment after striking a cyclist on May 14, 2003. Cafferty was sentenced to a $250 fine and 70 hours of community service. Mr. Cafferty was charged with the traffic infraction, along with misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, assault and harassment, after the police said he knocked a man off a bike with his Cadillac on Ninth Avenue. The bicyclist was slightly injured. A traffic officer and several pedestrians ran after Mr. Cafferty's car, but he ran at least two red lights without stopping, according to a police complaint"

Dear Mr. Jonathan Klein, President of CNN, in Atlanta, Georgia:

"When are you going to clean house and introduce more balanced, intelligent and rational "talking heads" in your news organization before your staff ends up being the "Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, and Paris Hilton" of American news media, bad "poster models" for Western boorishness and vulgarity ? And get some non-white faces into your line-up, please.

Let's hope your Jack Cafferty and Richard Quest are the exceptions instead of exemplifications of how banal, and low American and Western news media have stooped down to, especially noticeable by those of us from the East, straddled partly here in the West, who are astute in our cross-cultural perches.

Clean house, Man. Clean house.
