Kishore Mahbubani, former Singaporean Ambassador to the United Nations, wrote a thoughtful piece for this week's issue of Newsweek Magazine. Click on to read:

Spatium Trientis has links to Mr. Mahbubani's personal web blogs, if you want to learn more about this thinker from Singapore's National University, who was Singapore's former UN ambassador, and his views about why "Modernization in the non-Western world must not be equated as Westernization."
Visit: http://www.mahbubani.net/

Mr. Mahbubani wrote with unique sensitivity and perceptiveness as an Asian, as an Eastern intellectual and experienced diplomat and formerly his country's (Singapore's) representative to the United Nations, who does not believe that 900 million Westerners have any standing to represent "the world," especially the 5.6 billion people in the Non-Western world.

Mr. Mahbubani's is also very eloquent in piercing Western hubris that pretends that only Westerner's views are "World views."

Read his blogs, and read it side by side with "The Europeanization of the World,on the Origins of Human Rights and Democracy," by John M. Headley, 2008, Princeton University Press. Click on my previous blog about Mr. Headley.
