Hillary Clinton's 'China Bashing' What's the truth behind her posture ?- by John Pomfret of the Washington Post

Hillary Clinton, in a desperate attempt to pander and troll for votes, is once again using the "China bogeyman" to try to win votes from a dumbed-down American electorate. As the Democratic presidential nomination continues to slip away from her, she is exploiting the average American angst about China, and the new pejorative which provokes hate and fear in America, "Made in China."

It is all about "spin" and "deception," anything to win votes. And China this year is the convenient scapegoat. And China bashing works well in the rust belt in America, states such as Michigan, Ohio, Indiana now wracked by an economic meltdown which smells "Depression." The putrid smell of an economic meltdown in these states remind one of the Era of Depression in the 1930s. Johnny and Jane are stressed to the max. Joblessness and erosion of America's manufacturing base makes China and India, the new "factories" of the world, easy and convenient targets to scapegoat.

As America's deindustrialization continues, and Johnny "Six Pack" and "Soccer Jane Mom" get more stressed out from an imploding domestic economy, home foreclosures up, jobs evaporating, groceries skyrocketing in prices, gasoline hitting the US$ 4 a gallon mark, with no end in sight, the China "bogeyman" is an easy target.

Today, China is Thug # 2 after Iran, Thug # 1; tomorrow, India is Thug # 3.

Consider further why "Johnny" and "Jane" are now trying to get rid of their SUV gas guzzlers and go Japanese "small cars." Will Japan be Thug # 4 soon ? What next ?
