I am a Democrat who voted for BO (Barrack Obama) in the California presidential primaries in February, 2008, who has turned into a Ron Paul fan.
This octagenarian Libertarian congressman's (R-Texas) new book, "The Revolution: a Manifesto," has resonated in America. There's some glimmer of hope for America in the face of the banality of presidential pandering politics in this presidential election year of the same old rhetoric, and the dumbing down of American politics.
Book readers and thoughtful Americans, those who still read books, and are not blindsided by "soundbites" and those relentless bombardment and overload of ignorant stridency in America's airwaves, talk shows, and further, by the "self-imposed" cultural blinders by the Mainstream American news media "ratpack," who are as close-minded, full of hubris and smugness, have taken Ron Paul's latest book to the top of the Amazon.com bestseller list.
“The Revolution: A Manifesto”, released earlier this month, is currently No. 1 on the http://www.amazon.com/ Web site’s list of top sellers, besting even Oprah’s latest Book Club selection. Here's what the Los Angeles Times reported: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/05/ron-paul-politi.html
Ron Paul's manifesto posits the following thoughtful statement into the national conversation ignored in the mainstream, and Amazon.com has the following synopsis of Ron Paul's "world view" :
"The Founding Fathers didn't want any of this. In fact, they said so quite clearly in the Constitution of the United States of America. Unfortunately, that beautiful, ingenious, and revolutionary document is being ignored more and more in Washington. If we are to enjoy peace, freedom, and prosperity once again, we absolutely must return to the principles upon which America was founded. But finally, there is hope . . . In THE REVOLUTION,Texas congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul has exposed the core truths behind everything threatening America, from the real reasons behind the collapse of the dollar and the looming financial crisis, to terrorism and the loss of our precious civil liberties. In this book, Ron Paul provides answers to questions that few even dare to ask.Despite a media blackout, this septuagenarian physician-turned-congressman sparked a movement that has attracted a legion of young, dedicated, enthusiastic supporters . . . a phenomenon that has amazed veteran political observers and made more than one political rival envious. Candidates across America are already running as "Ron Paul Republicans.""Dr. Paul cured my apathy," says a popular campaign sign. THE REVOLUTION may cure yours as well. "

You may ask, " why am I having 2nd thoughts about Obama?"
My answer is simple: "I was very touched and moved by his first book, "Dreams of My Father," a Story of Race and Inheritance. It was a very poignant piece about growing up as a mixed-race Black-White child in America. And I sincerely thought at the time, given Barrack's childhood years in Indonesia, Hawaii, and how he overcame adversity, to rise from a fatherless childhood, was a heroic feat.

But the Obama I admired has now turned into just an "American pol," i.e. pandering, intellectually dishonest, and simply "dumbing down" to the lowest common denominator of American spiritual and political vapidity and banality.
I am changing my vote with a "write-in" vote for Ron Paul.
And after all this disgusting China bashing and demonization coming from the Democrats, with their special interest "labor union" white bosses, tugging the strings behind the Democratic Party platform, and with the political "Chinaman lynching" demagoguery of Madame Speaker Nancy Pelosi, I am now inclined to go with Ron Paul, the only American pol at this time, at this juncture, at this stage, who is honest enough to "tell it like it is," i.e. nothing but the whole truth, so help me GOD. Or Buddha !
