In three days time, the Beijing Olympics Games opening ceremonies will commence.
08/08/08 is an auspicious occasion for all global Chinese, not just the Chinese peoples inside China, but also all around the world.... more than 50 million scattered in over 135 countries from neighboring Asia-Pacific, Australasia, North America, Latin America, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
It is said that everywhere the sun rises or the sun sets, one is bound to find an ethnic Chinese transplanted on the ground.
In the last year, on the lead-up to the Games, there has been a relentless series of "put-downs," "bad-mouthing," insults, and downright vulgar, arrogant "dissing" of China and the Chinese peoples being scripted, choreographed, orchestrated, dramatized, embellished, distorted, publicized, amplified in the WEST, by many of the mainstream Western news media.
Many in the biased Western news media organizations have all but thrown the "kitchen sink" at the manner and style by which the Chinese Beijing Olympics Committee, the Central government of China, and the ordinary peoples behind the Beijing preparations organizing, mobilizing efforts.
They have ran out of sensationalistic subjects to "badmouth;" now they are talking about the air pollution and the strange food the Chinese peoples eat. Arrogant chutzpah, hubris, and dissing malcontents. I call these "gweillo fart !" In Chinese, "fang pi !"
It was a herculian job, took an enormous amount of resources, including over US$ 20 billion in new physical infrastructures which transformed Beijing and made it into what it has become today.
In all of these efforts, many ordinary Chinese working people made enormous, steadfast, stoic sacrifices to get the job done. And done in a most efficient, timely, and breath-taking manner.
Let all Chinese not be timid or shy about it: all global Chinese are righteously proud that in the face of these relentless insulting sinister attacks in and from the WEST, from Tibet, Darfur, Myanmar, Xinjiang, Fa Lun Gong, human rights, etc. etc. , including the downright boorish and arrogant waylaying and ambush torch relay attacks in Athens, London, Paris, and San Francisco...... clearly being machinated and amplified by the Western news media, including CNN, among others, the Beijing Olympics Games volunteers and organizers continued and have been continuing their work zealously to make these Olympics Games a successful one.
They have all but dismissed China and the Chinese peoples as subhuman, human rights abusers, corrupt, sleazy, undemocratic, and whatnot.
In response, the Chinese peoples have been steadfast, stoic and plod along working feverishly to prepare and mobilize in unison around the Games preparation, and to play gracious hosts.
Now is the time. Our time has come. China and the Chinese peoples are proud to once again come out and come up, and hold all our collective heads up...... and we can all jettison and discard the insulting stamped placed upon our foreheads by the WEST..... as "Sick Men of the world."
Let the Games begin. And to those from the WEST who act boorishly, arrogantly, and in an uncivil manner, I say, "Throw the rascals out !"
